For Those Who Wish to Improve

The power of the mastermind is not under scrutiny in any way.  What IS under scrutiny is the ability to organize the mastermind and the ability to include the correct people in the mastermind.

Leaders must have the ability to organize the mastermind, select the right individuals and energize those involved to attend and participate in the mastermind to the ultimate end of creating circumstances that will foster success in business and personal endeavors.

The reason many individuals fail in endeavor is that they fail to implement the process or they select the wrong individuals to participate.

Many people look for a template of what positions or people to select.  That “template” does not exist.  The key to correctly selecting the individuals lies in passion.

Selecting the right people:

The first thing the leader must look for is passion.  Not just passion for his or her position, but passion for moving the company ahead.  Sometimes these individuals are NOT in the regular positions in a company or career.  Therefore, the leader must search those individuals out and find the correct mix.  Sometimes those individuals exist within the organization, sometimes they do not.

Organizing and motivating:

The leader needs to commit to organizing this group.  This takes time and a singular focus on the task.  He or she also needs to inspire or motivate these people or this group to use their instinctive talents as well as their education and experience to move the company forward.

Creating Loyalty:

The leader must also create a loyalty that goes beyond the doors of the company.  In the military orders are obeyed or people die – I think that is a line in a movie ;  ).  But, a great leader inspires the team to follow orders based on a vision and a plan.  Create that loyalty with integrity and congruence, vision and goals, passion and follow through.

Napoleon Hill writes in his book Think and Grow Rich that a mastermind is:

“The coordination of knowledge and effort of two or more people, who work toward a definite purpose, in the spirit of harmony.”

This is an important concept as we know that it is critical to create a certain focus that is powerful.  As Napoleon Hill continued that thought he said, “No two minds ever come together without thereby creating a third, invisible intangible force, which may be likened to a third mind.”

That invisible force is what most people today are referring to as “Intention”.  It is that “intention” that is created as like minds gather and focus on a tangible goal that can be attained.  Then energy flows through the group and assist in producing actions as a result.

It is not the “how to” of a mastermind that is critical initially, it is the actions TO create.  The how tos can be read in many places.

A leader will understand the significance of this critical trait of a leader.

The most important boundary you can protect is your spiritual boundaries.  There are a number of spiritual boundaries that are key to keeping yourself sane in this world.

We have all heard the comment or we have all said something and waited for that lightning bolt to strike us.  While this will most likely not happen as a result of some spiritual punishment, the fear has been duly placed in our psyche.  As a result, we need to define our Spiritual Boundaries.

Inner Spiritual Boundaries:

  1. Core Values
  2. Central Belief System
  3. Fundamental Spiritual Structure

External Spiritual Boundaries:

  1. Bad Influence
  2. Bad Habits
  3. Non-Self-Convicted opinion

Each of these areas are as dangerous as the other if you cross them or let them degrade.

Inner Spiritual Boundaries are where we should start.  They can be the most sinister as we ignore them or process them so strong that our own identity lapses into nothing more than a conduit for someone else’s words or beliefs.

Most people have never defined their core values and so have difficulty understanding why they are conflicted or have chaos in their lives.  This is true in life or more specifically in the spiritual lives.  As we define who we are we must also define each area of our life to understand who we are and the boundaries we want to set for ourselves.  This begins with our core values.

These core values create who we are and what we do on a daily basis.  Our true identity is built by what we decide we are going to believe over a lifetime.  These central beliefs shape our choices in jobs, fun and even our mate.  We need to align with the person we are spending time with.

It is a fundamental key to our central belief system.  Those beliefs shape our daily actions and thoughts.  Those thoughts that incriminate us or celebrate the life we lead.  The good and bad we have done are developed in our mind by that belief system.

The key to unlocking these beliefs lie in the Fundamental Spiritual Structure.  This is the structure that we have grown up with and have “learned” to believe and act upon.  Actions over time develop habit and belief in a certain structure.  That structure creates the boundaries that protect us and creates walls that are hard to penetrate.

External Spiritual Boundaries are the ones that we most understand and are affected by until we understand the Inner Spiritual Boundaries.  The external barriers are more easily seen and kept under control because they are visible to everyone.  We HAVE to make a conscious effort to fit in to the crowd or make a special effort to NOT fit in based on those external boundaries.

We are taught when we are young to NOT hang around bad people or bad influences.  However, as we age those boundaries become less restrictive and we need to establish these for ourselves.  The creation of these protections become less guided by authority and more by our convictions.  The external influences of the internet, media, Hollywood and our circle of influence are key to what we allow into our conscious and subconscious minds.  They can influence us in small or large ways.  As much as nutrition affects our physical health, this onslaught of material that we allow our senses to come in contact with directly and indirectly affect our fundamental structures mentally.

As these structures are affected, we in turn create either good or bad habits.  These new structures we allow to be created mold our action set.  Bad habits can be formed from this external attack or our moral fiber.  Forcibly (or consciously) creating those habits that will remain congruent to our core values is critical to maintaining inner-peace and combating the chaos created by NOT doing battle correctly.

What are the effects of crossing these barriers or letting them slide?

The end result of not maintaining proper boundaries is the existence of continual chaos.  This chaos take over our lives given free reign and it takes monumental effort to return to where we left the road.  In another article we talk about chaos.  So, we will not go there in this article.  However, you can read more about chaos here.

What can we do to protect ourselves from these different distractions both inner and external?

  1. The key is to protect them from the outset and not let yourself travel to far down any derogatory path.
  2. Spaced repetition with the good information that you wish to put into your mind.
  3. Daily meditation and focus on the path that you want to travel.
  4. Careful consideration of those whom you choose to associate with.

These steps will create the spiritual freedom that you want and the separation from the troublesome part of your spiritual path.

Every so often a compelling strategy enters the marketplace.  When that happens, you need to take advantage of it.  Exitfire is a strategy Russell Brunson uses to explode his business.  Now, you can use the same strategy as the master.

One of the most important documents that you will ever fill out and sign is your Individual Development Plan.  However, I know most of you will NEVER fill this out.  You will never decide to plan your success.

I am always amazed at the lack of planning that people do for their personal lives.  They will sit for hours and plan somebody else’s success or some other business’ success, but they won’t spend an hour on their own Individual Development Plan.

It is a secret that most of the masters keep to themselves and never share.  However, I am committed to ensuring that you have a template for your own success.

Jobs or businesses are not usually created for what we love, but what we need to provide for our family while we create what we love long term.  Some create a business from what they love and they excel in that scenario and become successful.  But most need a career or business path to create wealth that they can use to build their “real” dreams.

So, we have created an Individual Development Plan template that you can use to chart out your path toward success.  Use this document to plan out your path to success.

YMG – Individual Development Plan

This document helps you chart your course and put in place the education, activities and relationships you need to develop into the person or leader you need to be.

I challenge you to build yourself to where you need to be.

Every once in a while you run across an image so significant you have to share it.  My friends Lauri and Perry Wakefield just brought their second child, Scott, into their family.  He is a joy to them for sure.  I know, I know, there are sleepless nights and smelly diapers.  But, he is precious.

Here he is with his BIG brother Jack.

(From WildcatNation.net today) – Yesterday (Mon.) was my youngest daughter Rebekah’s 16th birthday, and in keeping with family tradition she got to pick the restaurant for her birthday dinner. She decided on P.F. Chang’s at Fayette Mall, even though she had never dined there prior to last night.

We arrived at about 6:50pm and were told there would be a 20-25 minute wait. After we had been sitting in the foyer for about 10 minutes I was looking out the front door and I told my wife “that guy walking this way kind of looks like Patrick Patterson”.

Sure enough, in through the door walk Patterson, Harrelson and Liggins. Since I was literally standing by the door I shook each one’s hand and congratulated them on this past weekend’s performance. We assumed that this was just an instance of a few of the guys going out for dinner, but within the next 8-10 minutes, in groups of 2-4 players/coaches, the entire team showed up, Calipari included. The funniest group was Cousins and Orton. They showed up together (they are some big boys!), and DeMarcus — with a huge grin on his face — proceeded to do two “laps” around the revolving door, trapping Orton inside. It made me fully realize that they are still kids at heart, even though they’re full grown men from all outward appearances.

Again, I made it a point to shake hands and congratulate every single one that came through the door (even the Assistants), because how many opportunities does a CAT fan get to do this, right?

They apparently had reservations, because as each mini-group entered the restaurant they proceeded directly into the dining area, where they were met with applause from the patrons (which I thought was cool too). After they had all passed by we were talking about how neat this was, and how Rebekah had made a wonderful choice of restaurants! We thought that was pretty much the end of the excitement.

Our 20-minute wait turned into 50 minutes, but we were finally seated. Lo and behold they put our party of 9 at a table right next to the team, which we again thought was neat. Even though several patrons walked up and took pictures, I insisted that we leave them alone to enjoy their dinner…the way it should be IMHO.

As we noticed they were finishing up, my wife half-jokingly suggested that my oldest daughter go over and tell them why we were there, and would they mind wishing her sister a happy birthday. Well, she did, and what happened next is the meat of the story.

Patterson, Harrelson, Hood and Stevenson walked over behind her (at the head of the table), and Patrick leaned over her shoulder, gave her a hug and asked her name and how old she was. After she told him he straightened up, raised his arms and said to the entire dining room “Hey, it’s ‘Bekah’s 16th birthday, so why don’t we all sing to her?”. Josh kicked it off, and those 4 players, our table, and the rest of the patrons in the dining room sang Happy Birthday to her! You can imagine the impact this had on her. She had an ear-to-ear grin that might have been the widest I’ve ever seen on a person! They also gave her a cake that someone had brought for them. It was a store-bought cake that read “Congrats Cats, 2010 SEC Champs”. Josh said “we’ll never eat this, why don’t you take it”. Then there were a few more “thank you’s” and handshakes, and they left the restaurant. As you can imagine, all eyes were on our table, and we again thought that was just the coolest thing that could happen, and that it was definitely a memorable birthday.

About 5 minutes later we were still talking about what had just transpired, when back through the front door walks Harrelson, with his hand behind his back. He walked up to Rebekah and said “do you think this would be a good birthday present” and brought his hand from behind his back to present her with a basketball autographed by the entire team, and personalized with the words “Happy Birthday Bekah, Big 16”!!

We were absolutely stunned!! I didn’t know my jaw could drop that far, and that grin on Rebekah’s face that I was sure couldn’t get any bigger, well it doubled in size! I think it kind of blew away everybody in the restaurant, and it certainly did us!

That’s my story; thanks for the indulgence. But the point I want you to leave with is this:

How good are these young men to do this? Heck, we were absolutely tickled that they took the time to wish her a happy birthday and sing to her, but when Josh brought that ball in and handed it to her it transformed a great birthday dinner into an occasion she’ll remember for the rest of her life!

My sincere gratitude goes out to Coach Cal and all of the players for this incredible gesture!! This is Kentucky Basketball at its finest!

One of the most prized possessions in today’s internet world is a good copyrighter.  Someone who’s words create the emotion necessary to move the masses to action, whatever that desired action is.  They are able to create Power Words that generate Powerful Results.

You create those same words and results on a daily basis with the choice of vocabulary you use.  Those results are key to your success in whatever profession you choose or your personal relationships.

Your choice of words either creates great and powerful results or average and mediocre results.

Learning what words to use is a critical piece to the career puzzle you have.  Choose words that encourage and motivate rather than words that sting and de-motivate.

Someone once said to me that he wanted to work with professionals that didn’t need to be “babysat”.  While his underlying message is find good people, he completely missed the boat!  We all want to work with professionals.  None of us wants to go to the extra length to get the same result.  However, your legacy lasts a lifetime and you have to live with the results.

Change is good.  That doesn’t mean we have to stay with BAD results.  We just need to move on without creating the sting that mediocre lives create.  Become excellent in your striving to improve in the area of Powerful Words and their accompanying Powerful Results.

Everything that happens to us happens in purpose.  And sometimes, one thing leads to another. Instead of locking yourself up in your cage of fears and crying over past heartaches, embarrassment and failures, treat them as your teachers and they will become your tools in both self improvement and success.

I remember watching Patch Adams – its my favorite movie, actually. Its one great film that will help you improve yourself.

Hunter “patch” Adams is a medical student who failed to make it through the board exams. After months of suffering in melancholy, depression and suicidal attempts – he decided to seek for medical attention and voluntarily admitted himself in a psychiatric ward. His months of stay in the hospital led him to meeting different kinds of people. Sick people in that matter. He met a catatonic, a mentally retarded, a schizophrenic and so on. Patch found ways of treating his own ailment and finally realized he has to get back on track. He woke up one morning realizing that after all the failure and pains he has gone through, he still want to become the a doctor. He carries with himself a positive attitude that brought him self improvement and success. He didn’t only improved himself, but also the life of the people around him and the quality of life.

Did he succeed? Needless to say, he became the best damn doctor his country has ever known.

Success and Self ImprovementSuccess and Self Improvement

So, when does self improvement become synonymous with success? Where do we start? Take these tips, friends…

  • Stop thinking and feeling as if you’re a failure, because you’re not. How can others accept you if YOU can’t accept YOURSELF?
  • When you see hunks and models on TV, think more on self improvement, not self pitying. Self acceptance is not just about having nice slender legs, or great abs. Concentrate on inner beauty.
  • When people feel so down and low about themselves, help them move up. Don’t go down with them. They’ll pull you down further and both of you will end up feeling inferior.
  • The world is a large room for lessons, not mistakes. Don’t feel stupid and doomed forever just because you failed on a science quiz. There’s always a next time. Make rooms for self improvement.
  • Take things one at a time. You don’t expect black sheep’s to be goody-two-shoes in just a snap of a finger. Self improvement is a one day at a time process.
  • Self improvement results to inner stability, personality development and dig this…..SUCCESS. It comes from self confidence, self appreciation and self esteem.
  • Set meaningful and achievable goals. Self improvement doesn’t turn you to be the exact replica of Cameron Diaz or Ralph Fiennes. It hopes and aims to result to an improved and better YOU.
  • Little things mean BIG to other people. Sometimes, we don’t realize that the little things that we do like a pat on the back, saying “hi” or “hello”, greeting someone “good day” or telling Mr. Smith something like “hey, I love your tie!” are simple things that mean so much to other people. When we’re being appreciative about beautiful things around us and other people, we also become beautiful to them.
  • When you’re willing to accept change and go through the process of self improvement, it doesn’t mean that everyone else is. The world is a place where people of different values and attitude hang out. Sometimes, even if you think you and your best friend always like to do the same thing together at the same time, she would most likely decline an invitation for self improvement.

We should always remember that there’s no such thing as ‘over night success’. Its always a wonderful feeling to hold on to the things that you already have now, realizing that those are just one of the things you once wished for. A very nice quote says that “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.” We are all here to learn our lessons. Our parents, school teachers, friends, colleagues, office-mates, neighbors they are our teachers. When we open our doors for self improvement, we increase our chances to head to the road of success.

This is a good article I got from HERE.

I often say yes way too much.  Saying no is hard.  It is that way because of the people whom we choose to surround ourselves with.

Steve Pavalina hits it right on the head.  Read what he has to say:

Saying no isn’t easy, but it’s a required skill if you wish to have any degree of focus in your life. If you say yes too often, you’ll likely fall into the common trap of saying yes to the good while simultaneously saying no to the best.

There is no unconditional yes. Whenever you say yes, you’re also uttering a background no. Whenever you allocate time to one pursuit, you say no to everything else you could have done with that time.

Not too long ago, Blockbuster Video initiated a “no late fees” policy. In a way they’re saying yes to their customers who complained about having to pay late fees when returning a movie after the due date. But this policy has a side effect. Because there are no late fees, customers keep movies they’ve rented for a longer period of time before bothering to return them. So now when you go to Blockbuster to rent the latest releases, which used to be stocked abundantly, they’re more likely to be all picked out. The videos are in people’s houses instead of on the store shelves. I’ve heard Blockbuster employees apologizing for this policy on numerous occasions, usually in response to customer complaints that the new releases can’t be rented. The value of knowing you could go to Blockbuster Video and rent whatever you wanted is no longer there.

By saying yes to one group of customers (those who had problems with late fees), Blockbuster is simultaneously saying no to another group (those who value availability first and never had a problem returning a movie on time). Now if I were the VP of Marketing for one of Blockbuster’s competitors, I’d charge ahead with some sort of “guaranteed in stock” campaign to begin saying yes to those customers Blockbuster just bailed on.

There’s always a trade off when you say yes.

The word no often gets a bad rap, but realize that every yes includes a no, and every no includes a yes.

When you say yes, are you saying yes to your own best goals and plans while saying no to what’s less important?

Other people may pressure you to say yes, but before you do so, take a look at the no you’ll have to bear. Do you say no to your family in order to further your career? Do you say no to good health habits in order to fit in with your peers? Do you say no to setting your own goals in order to say yes to the reactive bait others lay before you?

If you want to say yes to what’s really important to you, you can expect to hear yourself saying the word no a lot more often.

When you say no, usually the person who hears it will react negatively, sometimes mildly, sometimes strongly. Don’t let that bother you — their reaction has a lot more to do with them than it does with you. If they push you too much, I suggest you simply turn it around on them by emphasizing the no that would accompany the yes. For example, “Why are you asking me to say no to my family, my health, my goals, and so on, just so I can say yes to your request?”

If it’s not what you truly want, say no.

I agree with Steve.

Here is his post.  Saying No.

Rob Wheeler.

The benefits of increasing search engine traffic to any website are many. For online retailers and affiliate marketers, this means a higher potential for greater product sales and referral commissions.

For the average blogger, the increase in search engine traffic means a bigger audience and possibly more long term profit from the display of on-site or privately arranged advertisements.

Understanding how to consistently send more search engine traffic to your website requires an appreciation of the Long Tail theory and subsequently the effective manipulation of traffic-directing long tail keywords.

First coined in by Chris Anderson in a seminal 2004 article in Wired Magazine , the Long Tail is a socio-statistical theory which suggests that the collective sales of products in low demand can exceed that of popular products and bestsellers.

Applying this theory to mass market retailers like Amazon , Anderson suggests that catering to minority tastes and making low-demand products consistently available will allow businesses to achieve higher profit margins, than if they were to solely focus on high-demand/popular products.

Here is the Long Tail in a Nutshell:

The theory of the Long Tail is that our culture and economy is increasingly shifting away from a focus on a relatively small number of “hits” (mainstream products and markets) at the head of the demand curve and toward a huge number of niches in the tail.

As the costs of production and distribution fall, especially online, there is now less need to lump products and consumers into one-size-fits-all containers.

In an era without the constraints of physical shelf space and other bottlenecks of distribution, narrowly-targeted goods and services can be as economically attractive as mainstream fare.

long tail.jpg

When applied to websites and search engine traffic/marketing, it simply means that most websites are likely to receive most of their search engine visitors through a variety of low-volume search queries instead of a handful of major keywords.

Therefore focusing on developing the keywords which receive lower volumes of search traffic will lead to an increase in the overall amount of visitors from search engines to your website.

What are Long Tail keywords?

Long tail keywords are simply multi-phrase search queries which visitors use on search engines to arrive at your website. These longtail keywords are much more targeted than the general or main keyword topic and they literally embody a visitor’s need for specific information.

Here is an example. ‘Credit Cards‘ is the general keyword topic and long tail keywords within this niche includes terms such as the following:

  • credit cards for people with bad credit
  • list of low interest credit cards
  • benefits of small business credit cards
  • good canadian credit cards for students

These long tail keywords are actual search queries, therefore optimizing your site and creating content to match these search queries will allow you to attract visitors who search for information via these and similar search terms.

Benefits of Long Tail keywords

Here are four main reasons why you should consider optimizing your website for long tail keywords:

  • Long tail keywords lead to higher conversions. Visitors arriving through multi-phrase search queries might be more likely to make purchases or convert on affiliate programs or recommendations. By targeting these longtail phrases, you are effectively targeting a market of potential buyers.
  • Long tail Keywords are Easier to rank. It is much easier to make your website rank well on search engines for longtail keywords because of the generally weaker competition.
  • More Visitors to your website. Targeting long tail keywords will gradually lead to more search engine traffic because you’ll have a lot of pages indexed and ranking for specific phrases related to your website/business. This means increased visibility and therefore a much larger amount of search engine traffic.
  • Higher monetization potential. Search engine visitors are very valuable because they are targeted individuals who are seeking specific information and hence are more likely to click on contextual ads or subscribe to your site newsletter or blog feed. This grows your audience and allows you greater monetization potential in the long run through product sales or the use of third-party ad networks.

Five Ways to Find and Target Your Long Tail Keywords

Here is a list of five methods you can use to discover the long tail keywords that are relevant to your website and niche. These methods consist of effectively utilizing several online web tools as well as basic content development tactics.

1. Keyword Analytic and Tracking Programs

103-bees.jpg

HitTail and 103bees are two keyword/analytic programs you can use on your website. You’ll just need to drop a few lines of code in your site template and both programs will start to suggest specific long-tail keywords you can use. They can be considered some sort of a lazy and semi-passive way to develop a range of long tail keywords.

I’ve personally tried both analytic packages for several weeks and didn’t find them to be really useful because of several reasons:

  • Poor Keyword management interface. If your site receives a lot of search traffic, the analytic programs will give you a lot of suggestions, sometimes far too many for you to implement.Filtering and selecting specific keywords from the list presented still requires some degree of time and work, not to mention that the weak interface makes it impossible to group, sort and tag keywords according to specific to-do time frames and priorities.
  • No built-in search volume measure for each keyword phrase they suggest. You might want to run the list of long tail keyword suggestions you receive through a search volume analyzer to find out which one to prioritize.Links to free keyword tracker programs like Wordtracker and the ability to sort the keywords according to approximate search volumes would have be very useful indeed.
  • Weak performance for new sites. If you’ve just started a new website or blog, these packages will not help because if you don’t have any search hits, you won’t get any keyword suggestions. It also means that even if you start getting a little search traffic, the keywords suggestion will come rather slowly. This doesn’t allow you to plan and create content in advance to match your search marketing campaigns.

However if you are pressed for time or am unwilling to do research on your own, these analytic packages might come in handy.

If I were to pick one program to use, I would go with 103bees because they offer more statistical features than HitTail while acting as a SERPs tracker which enables you to monitor how your keywords are ranking on the search engines.

HitTail only allows one website per account so if you want an analytics tool for several websites, 103 bees would be better as they allow you integrate and monitor multiple websites within the same interface.

hit-tail.jpg

2. Internal On-Site Search Boxes.

Monitor what keyword phrases users are searching for on your website and create pages with these exact keywords and variations of these keyword phrases. This is a passive and useful way of developing long tail keyword rich webpages.

Your visitors are effectively doing all the research for you and their search behavior usually corresponds in some way to the general public’s search habits.

3. Online Keyword Research Tools

In my previous article on how to pick your blog niche, I’ve written about how keyword research tools such as the Google Adwords Keyword Tool and SEO Book Keyword Suggestion Tool can help you determine the profitability of a niche.

These tools can also help you to develop a broad range of secondary keywords when you type in a core keyword such as ‘credit cards’. Both of these tools will give you a long list of tools sorted according to their search volume.

For example, here’s a query for the keyword ‘credit cards’ on both Adwords and the SEO Book tool:

adwords-keyword-tool.jpg

seo-tool-keyword-tool.jpg

These keywords and phrases are components of long tail keywords you should target. What you should do is to keep a list of these keywords in an accessible document and when you write any article, be sure to include at least one of these keywords as your title tag.

This can be done systematically and you should go through the entire list at least once or twice. You should connect these keywords with a variety of phrases which are similar to search queries.

For instance, if I were to use the first few items on the Adwords list above for ‘credit cards’, I would include specific phrases before or after the keywords.

Here are some examples of possible page titles:

  • How to pick a credit card
  • 4 ways to apply for a credit card
  • Bad credit cards to avoid

Another tool you can use is Google Suggest, a search box which guesses what you are typing in it and offers suggestions in real time. This uses data from the overall popularity of searches it sees and can be a useful way to narrow down your searches to specific keyword niches.

Note that these keyword suggestions are not longtails but rather categorical keywords which each contain a whole bunch of long tail keyword phrases. Google suggest should only be used to narrow down your search so you can do further analysis through keyword tools or competitor analysis.

If you are using Firefox as a browser, I highly recommend installing the Customize Google extension because it allows you to have Google Suggest functionality on the usual Google search boxes as well.

4. Competitor Analysis: Finding their Long Tail Keywords

Learning how your competitor gets traffic to their website is a powerful strategy because your competitor has already targeted a whole bunch of long tail keywords. You’ll only need to optimize your site and create new pages which target these keywords as well.

Depending on your overall link profile, on-site optimization and site strength, you will stand a chance of ranking better than your competitor on the search engines.

There are two ways to find your competitors keywords. One is to visit their websites and analyze their webpages, check out their title and meta tags, along with their backlinks if you have the time. The benefit of this detailed research is that you’ll come to understand your competitors a lot better.

seodigger.jpg
A faster method to perform competitor keyword analysis would be to use free online keyword parsing tools like SEODigger, which allows you to immediately find out which keywords your competitor is targeting by simply inputing their site URL.

SEODigger can be inaccurate when it comes to actual keyword ranks but is generally useful as it shows you various keywords which your competitors are ranking for at the moment.

5. Natural Long Tail Keyword Development

This is the simplest way to develop long tail keywords because it doesn’t require much research at all. All you have to do is to make sure that you update your website or blog more frequently by adding new webpages and core keyword-friendly content.

The key emphasis here is frequency. If you’ve just started a new blog, get it indexed by Google first and then and post as frequently as possible to increase your content visibility on the search engines.

A high frequency of blog posts, each with specific variations of your keywords will help you to gradually get more search traffic.

Dosh Dosh’s Long Tail Keyword Development Strategy

To make things easier for you, I’ve broken down the procedure of finding and developing your long tail keywords into a simple five step process. By following this strategy, you should be able to effectively grow the amount of search traffic you receive daily.

  1. Enter your core keywords in the Adwords Keyword Suggestion tool. Download the entire list in a text or excel format.
  2. Perform competitor analysis manually or through SEO Digger.
  3. Compile in one list, all the longtail keywords from both of the above steps.
  4. Start to create webpages or blog posts and include at least one keyword + a phrase in the title. For WordPress users, install and use the SEO Title Tag plugin.
  5. Optional: Set up an keyword analytics package to receive keyword suggestions and track existing keyword performance

Final Thoughts

This article on using Long Tail keywords to attract more search traffic is an companion piece to my series of tutorials on niche blogging, because niche blogs require consistent search traffic for effective growth and monetization.

If you already own several blogs in profitable niches, these tips on long tail keywords will undoubtedly increase the amount of traffic you receive from search engines.

It has worked remarkably well for me and I’m absolutely confident that you’ll see the same improvement in search traffic figures as well.
