I agree, I usually only apply this to social and financial boundaries, but this challenges me to expand my thinking.

Rob,

I really enjoyed reading this post. It's a great reminder, as you said, to leave the past where it is. No matter how much we try, changing it will never happen.

Thanks again for all the great information you are putting out here for us!

What usually left out of the story is the fact that to keep Roger Bannister from getting in his own way, his coach lied to him about his lap times, saying that he was slower than he actually was. It wasn't until after the race was finished did he find out that he did it in less than 4 minutes. This reminds me of the scene from Facing the Giants where the football player accomplishes so much more than he thought possible because he was blindfolded and couldn't talk himself out of it.

I'm not sure if we really do need to be politically correct. I think most thinking people actually DON'T approve of political correctness, especially when the proponents of it tout being extremely caring and "tolerant" of THEIR views, when they seem to be extremely INTOLERANT of everybody else's!

Rob,
A creative release of stress is more important than a distructive one. Today with foreclosures, job layoffs, health issues, you name it, stress is high and what is the release more alcohol, running your car into a tree, shooting up your family...or can you get ontop of it and do something that will really help you...go for a hard hike, swim in the ocean...go running...but so many of us get caught up in the stress and can not let go. I go and sit at the ocean side and feel extremely small.

Sweet post! You put a lot of work into these, love the video clips.

"We Are Marhall" (I'm not sure if that's the exact title) is a great movie, well worth renting. And like Marshall, we may not win every time but when we "lay it on the line" life is a lot better and more rewarding than when we're just coasting!

I love these movie. Seeing others who have made it against the odds is very inspiring. Some of them like, we are marshal, did not even "make it" but they keep moving which ensured their destiny with history through pure tenacity.
