Well, we are halfway through the first full day of the Olympics. I absolutely love the competition, the pain, the joy and the sadness associated with the struggle. Its like an adrenaline push for me. I get excited to see both the winners and the losers. Even the losers of these events are major winners. They have become the best in their prospective country just to get to this amazing stage.
It reminds me of the daily struggle to succeed for each of us. We are working hard in our different industries, companies and regions to create a certain lifestyle. We try hard to set up financial security for ourselves and our families.
My reason for writing this post today is to remind you that success in life is NOTHING like sports. Not just one person wins! The beautiful thing about success in life is that some win quick, some win slow, some keep struggling and some quit.
Which are you? Do you try something and after a month or two, or a year of really not trying, do you quit? Or have you been trying something for a long time and it just isn’t coming together no matter the effort and activities you do? Have you created a slow profitable business that will grow and over time make you wealthy? Or have you tried something and just hit it out of the park?
Where ever you lie on that timeline, you have the ability to succeed beyond your wildest dreams. Gone are the days when a company holds on to you for forever. You are likely to have 5 to 8 jobs by the time you reach retirement.
Jim Rohn says, “Work full time on your job. Work part time on your fortune.”
Wow! There is incredible wisdom in that statement.
Put together your plan and even if you spend 1 hour a day on your long term fortune, you will be ahead of the “athletes” competing against you in life. Most people NEVER compete.
I would rather get rich slow than not at all. Start today on your fortune, even if it is slow.
